Miami Basel 2023 – Tom and Catie

With December in full swing, it is natural to take stock and imagine what lies ahead in 2024. Nothing represents this time of reflection for the art world as much as Art Basel Miami Beach, and this year’s fair certainly made an impression as 2023 comes to a close.

Art Basel Report

Energy reverberated through the convention center walls, which saw almost 80,000 visitors. Feelings of pre-pandemic excitement abounded at the main fair and satellite events throughout the city. Strong works across the fair attracted attendees, and sales reflected this with many notable seven-figure acquisitions across established and ultra-contemporary artists.

Bright, bold, and eye-catching works on display matched the palpable exuberance. The energy felt in-step with the host city that boasts ranking as the fourth fastest-growing metro in the U.S. In the gateway to Latin America and a vibrant artistic hub, this year’s fair seemed to signify art world confidence as much as it did Miami’s position as a strong and thriving enclave.

The year’s last major event left us feeling optimistic and energized. We are excited to see what 2024 has in store.
