Shelley Bloch is the Chicago based Fine Art Consultant for Heather James Fine Art traveling throughout the Midwest to serve her clients. Prior to joining the gallery in 2016, Shelley Bloch worked for many years in the non-profit field at cultural institutions including the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields and the Palm Springs Art Museum. In 2017, she assisted Heather James Fine Art in expanding its consultancies to include Chicago, as well as securing the acquisitions of new works into museum permanent collections, including the Cincinnati Art Museum; the Mint Museum, Charlotte, NC; and the Stark Museum of Art, Orange, TX. Shelley received her BA and her MA in Museum Studies from Indiana University. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Evening Associates at the Art Institute of Chicago.
“My favorite thing about living in Chicago is the thriving arts community. There are few better places in the world to experience the level of art, theater, music and comedy. When I’m not working, you can find me at the Art Institute of Chicago, at the Arts Club of the Chicago, or taking classes at Second City. Visiting the Field Museum as a child helped me develop my love of museums, art, and anthropology. I get just as excited to walk through Rice Hall of African Mammals now as I did as a little kid – I’m now a proud member of the Board of Trustees of the Field Associates.”
