Story of Heather James: A Conversation with the Owners

In 2021, Heather James Fine Art celebrated 25 years in business. In that time, we have placed over 6,500 works of art with collectors, including dozens of paintings by Claude Monet, and over 150 pieces each by Pablo Picasso, Alexander Calder, and Andy Warhol. Other top sellers for the gallery over time are Vincent van Gogh, Marc Chagall, Salvador Dali, Camille Pissarro, Damien Hirst, Tom Wesselmann, Ed Ruscha, Helen Frankenthaler, Henri Matisse, Joan Miró, Fernando Botero, Edward Hopper, and Andrew Wyeth.

Our team continues to grow, expanding our worldwide presence into new cities. We now have galleries or consultancies in New York, London, Los Angeles, Basel, San Francisco, Newport Beach, Montecito, New Orleans, and Palm Beach. We look forward to expanding to Asia in the new year.

Our 25th year has proven to be our most successful yet. In 2020, we sold an astounding 382 works of art, and we are outpacing those numbers for 2021.

It is our mission to provide expertise and help our clients reach their collecting goals. Our international network allows us to bring artworks into our clients’ homes for private in-person viewings, while our online reach and digital capabilities make it easy to acquire artworks completely online. We strive to present exceptional artworks from the most celebrated artists in history in a way that is personal, accessible, and enriching.
