Mary Wood is a Fine Art Consultant based in Basel, Switzerland where she leads our European consultancy. Not only is Basel home to the world’s prestigious art fair, Art Basel, but also top art museums such as  the Fondation Beyeler and Kunstmuseum Basel.  Outside of Basel, Mary regularly visits our clients across Europe to assist with all their collecting needs. In her time at Heather James, Mary has acquired and placed masterpiece works for Heather James Fine Art including Claude Monet, Alexander Calder, David Hockney, René Magritte, Robert Rauschenberg and Damien Hirst.

“I love the combination of history and people from all over the world that live in Switzerland.  Walking down the street, you hear many different languages and see the rich and extensive history of Basel everywhere you look – Mittlere Brücke (the middle bridge) in the city center, opened in 1226! My favorite place to visit is Fondation Beyeler because its exhibitions, architecture, and grounds are extraordinary. Located a bit outside of Basel, the museum is an idyllic place to spend an afternoon.”
