Heather James Fine Art & Antiquities opened its doors at its original gallery location in Palm Desert, California. For many years, husband-and-wife founders Jim Carona and Heather Sacre diligently built the gallery and our network of relationships.

Specializing in antiquities, from Pre-Columbian to Classical, Heather James Fine Art & Antiquities extended its focus to Impressionism at the behest of clients. From there, our expertise in Modern, Post War, Contemporary and other categories grew.

2008
Heather James Fine Art moved locations and our current 8,500-square-foot gallery in Palm Desert, California, opened to the public.
2010
Heather James Jackson Hole opened its doors in April, bringing exceptional artworks and services to the Intermountain West and catering to the community that makes Jackson Hole a unique destination for American culture.

2018
Throughout the 2010s, Heather James deepened its curatorial program and client relationships, and expanded eastward, opening a consultancy in New York. Marking the occasion, we presented De Kooning X De Kooning, an exhibition of paintings and works on paper by Elaine and Willem de Kooning, leading figures of New York Abstract Expressionism.

2019
Furthering our presence in California, we established a consultancy in Montecito, with Tom Venditti, former Senior Director of Art Collections for Paul Allen, and Catie Rini Patton, Heather James Senior Sales Consultant, at the helm.
2023
Our premier consultancy, Heather James Art Advisory, launched, catering to a wide spectrum of needs and ensuring a tailored collecting experience. This division is led by Co-Chairmans Tom Venditti and Sarah Fischel, alongside our Senior Curator and Director of Museum Relations, Chip Tom.

Heather James celebrated 30 years of business with a special anniversary exhibition, La Belle Époque to the Gilded Age: European Impressionism's Influence on American Art, which recognizes the artists and movements that have shaped art history and our gallery's history.
