JORGE PARDO (b. 1963)
Jorge Pardo is a Cuban‑American artist born in Havana in 1963. His family moved to Chicago when he was six, and he later studied at the University of Illinois at Chicago before earning a BFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Pardo works across painting, sculpture, design, and architecture, often blending everyday objects with artistic elements. His installations frequently engage with architectural space, creating immersive environments, as seen in projects in Tecoh, Mexico, and Arles, France. Over his career, he has exhibited at institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Miami, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and K21 in Düsseldorf. His work is held in collections including the Centre Pompidou, Tate Modern, MoMA, and the Whitney Museum. He currently lives and works in Mérida, Mexico.
