FRANK MYERS BOGGS (1855-1926)
Frank Myers Boggs was an American painter and etcher recognized for his atmospheric views of urban and coastal scenes, especially of Paris and the French countryside. Born in Springfield, Ohio, he began his career as an engraver before studying painting in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts under Jean-Léon Gérôme. Boggs settled in France, where he exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon and became known for his depictions of the Seine, harbors, and street scenes rendered in muted tones and soft light. He lived in Paris for most of his life and was awarded the French Legion of Honor.
