JEAN BERAUD (1849-1935)
Jean Béraud was a French painter known for his detailed depictions of Parisian urban life during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born in St. Petersburg to French parents, he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris under Léon Bonnat. Béraud exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon and was associated with both academic and Impressionist circles. His works often portrayed scenes of everyday life, capturing the streets, cafés, and social gatherings of modern Paris with careful observation and subtle humor. He continued to paint and exhibit into the early 20th century and lived in Paris until his death.
